Gluehwein (Warm Spiced Wine) is perfect for sipping by the fire, or out on the slopes, or when friends and family come over. Make a big batch, keep it warm in your slow cooker, and you'll be very happy, even if the weather outside if frightful!

Serves: 6 - 10
  • 2 bottle of good-quality red wine
  • 2 cups water
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 6 cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 oranges - cut into bite-size pieces
  • Orange slices, for garnish
  1. Put all ingredients in a pot and bring it close to a boil.
  2. For additional taste, cut 2 oranges into bite-size pieces and add to the mixture.
  3. Let simmer, but do not boil.
  4. Remove cloves with a strainer, and cinnamon stick before serving.
  5. Garnish with orange slice.
  6. Enjoy!
