This Homemade Steak Sauce will make you never look at the bottled stuff again. Robust and deeply flavorful and an amazing addition to a perfectly prepared steak. And it comes together in less than 20 minutes!
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
4 tablespoon unsalted butter, ½ cup onion, 2 cloves garlic
Add the tomato paste, Dijon, Worcestershire sauce, Bourbon, vinegar, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Stir until completely combined.
3 tablespoon tomato paste, 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard, ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoon Bourbon, 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 tablespoon lemon juice
Add the fresh rosemary and simmer for 5 minutes.
2 sprigs rosemary
Remove from heat and strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a small bowl. Press the back of a wooden spoon or spatula onto the mixture to help the liquid completely pass through, leaving behind the solids.
Serve at once, or transfer to an air-tight container with lid and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
