Hurricane Cocktail

This Hurricane Cocktail is the classic libation born at the legendary Pat O'Brien's restaurant and bar in the French Quarter in New Orleans.  Refreshing and delicious.  Make this drink and be transported down to the Big Easy!

Ingredients

  • 2 oz white rum
  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 2 oz passion fruit juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine
  • Orange wheel for garnish
  • Maraschino cherry for garnish

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients to your shaker filled with ice.
  • Shake and then strain into a large glass (preferably a hurricane glass) filled with ice.
  • Garnish with half of an orange wheel and a maraschino cherry.

  • Most passion fruit juice /or concentrate you will find on the web may taste bitter. Best thing to use in place of it is just plain old Welches Passion Fruit Juice you find in the supermarket. It’s not pure passion fruit as it’s blended with a little grape juice as well. But it does the job & it tastes great!
