How to Make a Southside Fizz has Wesley concocting a super refreshing gin cocktail that dates back to the Prohibition Era.   The Loon changes it up a bit and uses fresh lemon juice and muddled fresh mint.   Al Capone would be so impressed!   As was I!!   This is another winner cocktail from The Loon!!

How to Make a Southside Fizz shows you how to whip a delicious and refreshing modern version of a Prohibition Era gin cocktail. Very simple to make but the taste is just perfect. Awesome for anytime of the year, but especially good in the dog days of summer!
Recipe type: Cocktail
Cuisine: Cocktail
Serves: 1
  • 1½ shots of quality gin
  • 1½ shots of lemonade (preferably homemade)
  • Several sprigs of fresh mint
  • Club soda, for topping
  1. In a mixer glass with a lid, add the gin and lemonade.
  2. Add in the mint then gently muddle.
  3. Place the lid on the mixer and gently shake to fully blend.
  4. Fill a tall glass with ice.
  5. Pour the drink over the ice.
  6. Garnish with fresh mint.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
